Scott Heath gets his first win in the High Country Dispensaries Late Models
57th consecutive season of racing at Bear Ridge week 3.
For Immediate Release BRS-05042024-1
Week three feature winners of the 57th consecutive season sponsored by Ron’s Fix it Shop of Bradford VT were Kyle Huntington in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds; Matt Ellsworth in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes; Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets Daniel Piastka, High Country Dispensary Late Models Scott Heath, LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks Andrew Fitzgerald, Woodsville Power Equipment Ridge Runners Travis King.
Three weeks three different winners are being recording in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds as Kyle Huntington was able to capitalize on his starting position and hold off the field to take home the checkers. Todd Buckwold had a great performance and was able to make it to second and hold of the challenges of Tim Churchill who would be the final one to make the trip to victory lane. Mike Ryan had a great run crossing the line in fourth with Jason Gray rounding out the top five.
In the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes the competition is fast and furious and it is anyone’s night if the stars are aligned right. This week it would be all about veteran Matt Ellsworth as he got to the front and survived several restarts to get the win. Jason Horniak had one of his better runs coming home in second with Cody Gregoropoulos joining the seasoned veterans finishing third. Last year’s champion finished fourth with Bob Shepard rounding out the top five.
Daniel Piastka makes it to victory lane twice in two visits in the Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets while it wasn’t a win it was a trophy and he sailed in to third behind his brother Brandon Piastka. The two dogged the leader but Chris Murray after a rough opening night was bound and determined to vindicate himself and was not about to let the brothers near him. Justin Sheridan takes home fourth with Manny Dias crossing line in fifth.
While the field is small the competition is pretty equal as Scott Heath gets his first win in the High-Country Dispensary Late Models. Heath held on to beat out Matt Lashua and Kelly Miller who both joined him in victory lane in that order. was able to hold on to third with Scott Heath, last year’s rookie of the year joining the two veterans in victory lane in third.
In the LaValley Building Supply last year’s track champion finally made it back to the top coming home the winner. Once he got the lead the battle of the night was for second as Dana Carter and John Fields battled it out for several laps to get the second spot. When the checkers waived it was Fields by a nose over Carter at the line. Chris Murray doing double duty finished fourth with Brian King completing the top five. Fitzgerald fell one spot short of winning a triple crown winning the Sting Vintage Race Cars Buster Kathan Dash for Cash but finished second in his heat race.
In the Woodsville Power Equipment Ridge Runners Travis King with a trail of smoke behind him was able to hold on for the win beating out Zach Audet who came from deep in the pack to finish second with Raven Streeter taking home the final trophy for the division. Last week’s feature winner Kevin LaForest comes from the last qualifying spot to take home fourth with opening winner Randy Morrill rounding out the top five.
