The Full Moon and Coupe Madness make for plenty of racing excitement
Chris Donnelly wins in the WYKR Sprint Cars of New England
For Immediate Release BRS-080120-1
The John Poor Memorial night sponsored by Walker Motors Inc of Woodsville NH feature winners were: Ryan Christian in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, Josh Harrington for the overlall in the DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes, Nicholas Longley in the C.A. Miller Limited Late Models, Troy Prentice in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stockers, Buddy Welch in the Peanuts Auto Four Cylinders, and Chris Donnelly in the WYKR Sprint Cars of New England.
A new face out Jason Gray’s attempt to claim another win in the DIRTcar Sabil & Sons Sportsman Modifieds beats. Ryan Christian is the lucky dog this week, starting from sixth place he had the machine to beat, as he worked his way to the front to take over the point with ten to go. From there he sailed on to his first win of the season beating out Wayne Stearns and Jason Gray who made it to the final victory lane spot on the last lap. Kyle Ashford has his best run of the season holding on to fourth with Mike Ryan completing the top five.
It was madness night for the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes. The competitors collected enough laps to double the money for each lap and run three twenty-eight lap segments. The first one got started off to a bit of a bumpy start, but eventually they would get it worked out to provide some great racing excitement for the fans on hand. Segment one was won by Jason Horniak with Thomas Placey and Will Hull coming home in second and third. Segment two found Tad Kingsbury on top with Derrick Stearns and Ryan Christian in second and third. Segment three went to Jason Horniak with Melvin Pierson and Brian Chaffee second and third. The overall went to Josh Harrington with a total of fifteen points, with Will Hull coming home in second with sixteen points and Jason Horniak was able to claim the final victory lane spot with twenty-one points. Melvin Pierson and Derrick Stearns completed the top five.
The USAC DMA Midgets return to action August 8, 2020.
The C.A. Miller Limited Late Models and LaValley’s Building Supply Dirt Stockers were back in action with the return of a past legend stepping in for Ryan Christian. Jason Giguere figured he would give it a try once again but found himself in the middle of wreck in the heat race, causing mechanical problems keeping him out of victory lane contention in the feature. Nicholas Longley would be the one to come out on top for the Late Models with George Osgood coming home in second and Deven Sterns in third. John Neddo and Matt Piper completed the top five. Troy Prentice grabs the win for the Dirt Stockers with Lucas Wheeler coming home in second and Phil Hayes in third. John Duprey and Jesse Dunham rounded out the top five.
From the penthouse to the outhouse in as quick as a week, Jason Porter last week’s feature winner hoped for a repeat in the Peanuts Auto Four Cylinders but mechanical problems took him out during hot laps leaving the door wide open for a new winner this week. Buddy Welch was not ready to let anyone else get a chance closing the door on Kevin LaForest who came across the line in second with Bobby Bell joining them in victory lane in third. Porter was able to take the green of the feature to earn him points needed to keep him in championship contention. Dustin Towle and Joe Malzac completed the top five.
The Mike Estrada State Farm 4 Cylinder Enduro will be returning for action on Saturday August 29th.
Chris Donnelly dominated the show in the WYKR Sprint Cars of New England taking home his second win in as many outings at the Ridge it 2020. His number one rival Will Hull crossed the line tight behind him with Floyd Billington the final one to joint them in victory lane. Clay Dow and Travis Billington completed the top five. The WYKR Sprint Cars of New England return to action on August 15, 2020.
Racing action will resume this coming Saturday August 8th with “Topless Night” sponsored by Swenson Insurance Co. The night will offer a full card of racing for the 99Rock weekly racing series, with the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes, USAC DMA Midgets, CA Miller Limited Late Models, LaValley’s Dirt Stockers , and the Peanuts Auto Four Cylinders.
