Event seven of the 55th consecutive season of racing at the Ridge.
For Immediate Release BRS-06252022-1
The JTB Towing & Recovery feature winners of the 55th consecutive racing season were Josh Sunn in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds; Tim Hodge in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes; USAC DMA Midgets OFF Return July 2, R&L Auto Towing and Recovery Late Models OFF Return July 2, LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks John Fields; Peanuts Auto LLC Ridge Runners Feature #1 Hayden Bishop Feature #2 Devon Spinks, Sting Vintage Race Cars “Buster Kathan 13 Lap” Semi Feature #Todd Buckwold, and Jon LaForest in the Joe Mama’s 4/6 Cylinder Enduro .
Popular car owner Gary Corsi had everyone rooting for him as they watched not one, but both of his machines grab the checkers in the two DIRTcar Sanctioned division. First in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds Josh Sunn after mechanical problems last week, came back strong to grab the win over Jordan Fornwalt who also has been having a bit of tough luck lately, finally got a break having his best finish of the season holding on to second, and Ryan Christian who crossed the line in third. Allan Hammond and Robert Tucker completed the top five.
In the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes all were rooting for Corsi once again as Tim Hodge after several cautions early was able to work his way to the front at lap ten and hold off the hard-fought challenges of Tad Kingsbury and Jason Horniac. A slight bobble by any of the top three could have taken them all out, but racing clean they held on and finished the event in the above-mentioned order. Steven Gardner had his best finish of the season taking home fourth with Cody Gregoropoulos taking home fifth.
The USAC DMA Midgets and will return to Ridge on Saturday July 2nd.
The R & L Auto Towing & Recovery Late Models were off and return to action on July 2nd.
John Fields gets his first win in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks, beating out Lucas Wheeler who came from deep in the pack but would run out of time before he could get his foot in the door first for the checkers, settling for second with Kale Shepard joining the two in third. Jesse Dunham and Ed Moodie completed the top five.
Hayden Bishop adds his name to the growing list of winners in the Peanuts Auto LLC Ridge Runners, crossing the line ahead of Geoff Durphey showing his best finish of the season and Hunter Hannon who crossed in third. Chase LaFoe and Katie Burroughs rounded out the top five. A post-race inspection would change the top three with Hannon failing, moving LaFoe up to third and Burroughs to fifth. In the second feature Devon Spinks scores his sixth win of the year beating out Jason Porter by a nose and Kevin LaForest who is still looing for his first win. Dilyn Switser and Logan Martin rounded out the top five.
Joe Mama’s Sporting Goods 4/6 Cylinder Enduro series offered plenty of racing excitement for the fans with the usual thrills and spills to keep everyone on the edge of their seats. At the end of the 75 lap event Jon LaForest is scored with the win over Bobby Bell and Jeremiah Little. Duke Maxwell and Riley Chaffee rounded out the top five. The next event for this great series will be July 30th.
