For Immediate Release BRS-09172022-1
The Twin State Tractor & Equipment feature winners of the 55th consecutive racing season in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds was Melvin Pierson, Tad Kingsbury in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes; USAC DMA Midgets OFF, Matt Lashua in the R&L Auto Towing and Recovery, Lucas Wheeler in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks; Peanuts Auto LLC Ridge Runners Feature one: Katie Burroughs, Feature two: Jason Porter. Granite State Mini Sprints 500cc Josh Wright and 600cc Teagan Daignault.
Melvin Pierson is added to the pool of winners in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds making it work on the outside late in the race to get by pole sitter Jeremy Huntoon, who’s hope for a feature win went away after a couple of cautions took away his lead. Pierson will get to compete in the ever popular “Growler” event next week as a feature winner. Matt Lashua and Jordan Fornwalt joined Pierson in victory lane finishing in that order with Huntoon holding on for fourth and Tim Hodge taking home fifth. Jason Gray will simply need to take the green on next weeks event to be crowned the champ for the third year in a row.
Tad Kingsbury stole another one, this time from Steve Ellsworth who is still looking for a win in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes. Kingsbury got by Ellsworth with two laps to go to win his eighth win of the season. This secures his third championship in a row in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes. Ellsworth held on for second with Cooper Hodge completing the top three. Brian Lakin and Cody Gregoropoulos completed the top five.
The USAC DMA Midgets return to action on September 24, 2022.
Matt Lashua will be scored the overall winner or the two-segment final event for the R & L Auto Towing & Recovery Late Models and the 2022 track champion with the absence of Ryan Christian his closest contender the last event was a walk in the park for Lashua. Kelly Miller is scored in second for the overall with Todd Dunham third. Parker Piper and Tyler Tremblay rounded out the top five.
Lucas Wheeler can finally sit back and breath with his eighth feature win in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks. Wheeler beat out Mick McClay for the win who finished in second with Tim Blake holding on the third his best finish of his career. Talking with Blake after the event, this third-place finish felt like a win for him, and it was great to see his beaming smile! Great job Tim!! Dustin Towle and Garrett Brown rounded out the top five. Wheeler like Jason Gray in the mods simply has to take the green next week to claim his first championship in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks.
With 26 machines in the Peanuts Auto LLC Ridge Runners once again they were afforded two features. Katie Burroughs came home the winner in the first feature her first of her career, with Westley Blake taking second and Shane Stygles third. Kevin Keene and Michael Paton rounded out the top five.
