Event four of the 55th consecutive season of racing at the Ridge.
For Immediate Release BRS-06042022-1
The Woodsville Guaranty Saving Bank feature winners of the 55th consecutive racing season were Robert Tucker in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds; Cody Gregoropoulos in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes; USAC DMA Midgets Seth Carlson R&L Auto Towing and Recovery Late Models Matt Lashua, LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks Chris Murray; Peanuts Auto LLC Ridge Runners Feature #1 Dilyn Switser Feature #2 Spencer Braley, Sting Vintage Race Cars “Buster Kathan 13 Lap” Semi Feature #12 Lucas Wheeler.
Four weeks of racing has seen four different winners in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, as Robert Tucker is finally able to find his way back into victory lane. It wouldn’t come easy but when the checkers waved, he was able to hold off the hard-fought challenges of Jason Gary who worked his way from deep in the pack. Gray would have to settle for second this night. Your third-place finisher a rookie in the division this year having moved up from the Sportsman Coupes was Brian Chaffee his first podium visit of the season. Rounding out the top five were Allan Hammond and Mike Ryan.
The same holds for the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes, as week four saw your fourth different winner in this division as well, proving that both divisions are loaded with some tough competition, and everyone needs to be on their game as they hit the famed ¼ mile clay oval. In the Coupes Cody Gregoropoulos is the one who made it to the checkers first, leaving Thomas Placey to wait another day to be the first repeat winner. Placey crossed the line second holding off Matt Ellsworth who came home in third. Young gun Cooper Hodge comes home fourth with Tim Hodge rounding out the top five.
Seth Carlson was all smiles in the USAC DMA Midgets as he was finally able to grab the checkers for his car owner Skip Matczak shaking the proverbial monkey off his back. Justin Sheridan hasn’t grab the first place spot yet, but has made it to victory lane for each event this time coming home in second. The third place position went to Mike Netishen, but a post-race inspection failure would take that spot away from him moving Daniel Piastka up to the third position. Will Hull and Brandon Piastka rounded out the top five. The USAC DMA Midgets will be making their first trip to sister track Albany Saratoga on Friday June 10th, and will return to Ridge on Saturday July 2nd.
Matt Lashua gets another win in the R & L Auto Towing & Recovery Late Models beating out Todd Dunham and Ryan Christian. Parker Piper and Trevor Strong completed the top five.
There was plenty of racing excitement in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks as these guys and gal were ready for action after having the week off. When the dust finally settled it would be the newcomer coming home first for the win Chris Murray with Jesse Dunham taking second and Lucas Wheeler grabbing the third and finally victory lane spot. Mike McClay and rookie Garret Brown rounded out the top five.
With over four thousand dollars on the line for the Peanuts Auto LLC Ridge Runners the competition was stiff and when it came down to the overall finishes several spots between the two groups would be determined by the last segment finish. Each group would have three twenty-two lap segments to earn as much money and double points that they could, and when all was said and done group one went to Dilyn Switser who beat out Greg Crews by three points and Katie Burroughs by seven. Matthew Lucas and Hayden Bishop were your overall top five. Segment 1 winner Hayden Bishop, Segment 2 winner Dilyn Switser, Segment 3 winner Greg Crews.
Group two was an even tighter battle with Spencer Braley being declared the winner by just two points over Jason Porter and Devon Spinks. Kevin LaForest and Tom Brown compled the top five. Segment 1 winner Spencer Braley, Segment 2 winner Jason Porter, Segment 3 winner Travis King.
