Adam Whitney FINALY gets his first win in the USAC DMA Midgets
Bear Ridge Speedway’s 5th event of 50th season of racing.
For Immediate Release BRS-061017-1
The Mekkelsen RV night at the Ridge had people on the edge of their seats all night long as they watched the best dirt track racing in New England.
The Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds see yet another new face on top this week as DJ Robinson starting on the outside pole was able to get the jump on Mike Ryan for the point. A caution early regrouped the field giving Robert Tucker and Walt Hammond Jr the opportunity to try to take the point away. They would not be able to succeed having to work on defending their own positions as the laps ticked off. Tucker was able to hold on to third as Alan Hammond coming from deep in the pack was on his way to the front. Hammond would get by nephew Walt and then past Tucker for the bridesmaid position. Richie Simmons and Terry Williams completed the top five.
In only his sixth time in a Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes Rookie Tanner Siemons proved that he is a Rookie who is here to stay and means business. Being lucky enough to start on the pole is a plus. Being talented enough to stay there for thirty laps comes with years of practice. Siemons no stranger to racing having competed in the Granite State Mini Sprints 500 cc division for the past few years made the huge leap to the Sportsman Coupes this year, with a goal to learn and improve every week. Learn he did and the improvements were awarded with his first career win in the division. Siemons survived several late race cautions and held off Danny Doyle and Matt Ellsworth who just didn’t have enough to set a serious challenge on Siemons. Doyle crossed the line second with Ellsworth on his heels in third. Jeremy Beckley and Gene Pierson finished out the top five.
Good things come to those who wait and the wait has been a long one and at times a bit daunting in Laquerre’s Sports USAC DMA Midgets for Adam Whitney. Whitney one of the original USAC DMA Midgets to compete at the Ridge has waited since day one to get his first win. No stranger to victory lane, he has just not been able to get to the checkers first. This all changed tonight as he dominated the event and survived a few late race restarts. Whitney grabbed his first win finally crossing the line first ahead of Jeff Horn and Joe Krawiec. Rounding out the top five were Dean Christensen and Seth Carlson.
Wayland Childs beats out Ryan Christian again in the C.A. Miller Limited Late Models with Bryan Campbell crossing the line in third. John Neddo and Corey Kenison completed the top five.
It was madness for the Weglarz Property Service Four Cylinders. An extra $1,800.00 was on the line with sixty laps to be run in three segments. Buddy Welch dominated the first two segments with Jesse Durkee taking the point on the third. When the dust settled Buddy Welch was declared the overall winner with Jason Porter coming home in second and Jesse Durkee in third. Bobby Bell and David Durkee Jr rounded out the top five.
The WYKR Sprint Cars of New England provided 25 laps of fast paced racing for the fans. Kevin Chaffee starting from the front row took the point and went on to win the event with Will Hull and Clay Dow coming home second and third. Luke Greenwood and Matt Hoyt completed the top five.
