Blake Buccellato wins in the Peanuts Auto LLC Four Cylinders
For Immediate Release BRS-091821-1
Twin State Ford Night Feature winners: Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds Josh Sunn; Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes Tim Hodge, USAC DMA Midgets Off; C.A. Miller Limited Late Models Matt Piper; LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks Mike Mann Peanuts Auto LLC Four Cylinders Feature #1 Blake Buccellato & Feature #2 Kevin LaForest.
Josh Sunn got a late start in the season in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds taking him out of any championship contention for 2021, but with two feature wins recorded under his name, he reminded everyone that he still knows how to get around the Ridge, and to look out in 2022 as he will be a strong championship contender. His win this week moved him up to thirteenth in points, and he will be one of the ten drivers competing in the Growler on September 25th. Jordan Fornwalt takes home second and if time trials well and takes the green should go home the 2021 runner up in the points battle. Todd Buckwold was the final victory lane visitor with Robert Tucker and Mike Ryan completing the top five. Jason Gray will be crowned your 2021 champion after September 25th.
Tim Hodge becomes the twelfth different winner in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes. The battle for the win was between Tim and Cooper Hodge for the second half of the race, with Tim beating out Cooper on the last lap taking the win by .280 of a second. Joining them in victory lane was Cody Copeland. Thomas Placey and Ali Pushee with another strong run completed the top five. Tad Kingsbury sits thirty points over Tim Hodge and will be declared the 2021 champion once he takes the green on Saturday the 25th.
The USAC DMA Midgets will be back at the Ridge on Saturday September 25th as part of the end of season double header weekend sponsored by General Auto Salvage. Carlson needs to take the green on Saturday September 25th to take home the crown.
Matt Piper scores his fourth win of the season in the C.A. Miller Limited Late Models solidifing his championship efforts. Piper beat Matt Lashua to the line with Tyler Tremblay crossing behind the pair in third. Rob Rugg and Ryan Avery rounded out the top five. Piper needs to take the green on Saturday the 25th to take home the championship.
Rookie favorite Mike Mann gets his first win in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks. He was able to make it to the front and hold off the hard fought challenges of Lucas Wheeler and Jesse Dunham and Mike Stender who were also doing battle for the final victory lane spot. When the checkers waved over Mann Wheeler would be scored in second with Stender beating out Dunham for third. Mike McClay completed the top five. This championship battle will be determined on Friday the 24th after time trials are recorded and the green flag waves on the feature event, as Dunham is just seven points over Wheeler.
Blake Buccellato came from mid pack in the first Peanuts Auto LLC Four Cylinders feature to take the win his first of the season. Taber Andrews crosses the line in second with his best finish of the season and Shane Stygles finish third. Cameron Kenny and Tom Brown completed the top five. In the second feature the battle has been a good one between former champion Jason Porter and Kevin LaForest. Going into the night Porter had a comfortable lead over LaForest, and simply needed to have a good finish to solidify his championship contention. Unfortunately, mechanically problems would affect his finish and with LaForest getting the feature win the battle was flipped with LaForest now on top twenty one points over Porter. LaForest will need to take the green on Friday the 24th to lock in the championship, his first in his career. Devon Spinks and Spencer Braley were the two to join LaForest in victory lane, with John LaForest and Westly Blake rounding out the top five.
