Jason Gray sweeps the DIRTcar Sabil & Sons Sportsman Modifieds
and DIRTcar Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes
57th consecutive season of racing at Bear Ridge week 22.

For Immediate Release 09212024-1

Week twenty-one New England Dirt Track Championships feature winners of the 57th consecutive season sponsored by General Auto Salvage were Jason Gray in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds; Jason Gray in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes; Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets overall Brandon Piastka, Dana Carter in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks, and Kevin LaForest in the Woodsville Power Equipment Ridge Runners. Growler Last Chance Qualifier winners: Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds; Jeremy Huntoon; Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes Ali Pushee; LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks Dana Carter. Growler winners: Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds; Matt Lashua; Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes Michael Danforth; LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks Andrew Fitzgerald.
GO BIG OR GO HOME and that is exactly what your 2024 track champion did in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds. Jason Grey was able to score the pole position thru the redraw for the hundred lap main event of the night and took full advantage of the spot to cruise on to take home his sixth win of the season, an impressive feat considering the talent in the division, but not nearly as impressive as what that win helped him accomplish. Jason Gray used those six wins to keep his point lead strong and claim his fifth consecutive track championship at the Ridge, the only time this has ever been done in it’s 57-year history. The pack went thirty-seven laps before the first caution waved. Gray was able to hold off any challenges on the restart as well as the couple of other cautions waved over the rest of the event. Tad Kingsbury and Todd Buckwold would join Gray in victory lane crossing the line in that order. Jeff Huntington and Mike Ryan rounded out your top five.
Jason Gray doing double duty would sweep the money home by winning the sixty-lap main in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes. Terry Williams and Tim Hodge ran out of time to set any challenge to take away the top spot and would have to settle for second and third in victory lane. Your 2024 track champion Michael Danforth Jr. finished one spot short of victory lane in fourth with another double duty name Todd Buckwold completing the top five.
The Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets final event of the season was a Manza style event with three segments run consisting of a ten, fifteen, and twenty lap segment. Brandon Piastka took home the first checkers with Will Hull in second and Chris Murray in third. Segment two went to Manny Dias with Will Hull in second and Jeff Horn in third. Justin Phillips wins the third segment with Brandon Piastka in second and Chris Murray in third. The overall top three were Brandon Piastka your 2024 Track Champion, Will Hull second and Justin Phillips third. Daniel Piastka and Anthony Marvuglio rounded out your top five.
A Growler was on deck for the Valley Building Supply Dirt Stocks for the first time, with the qualification for being in merely a feature win during the season. A seemingly easy task for some, but for others it has taken them a long time to get there, if they ever do at all. After the features are run there is a last chance qualifier race for one more chance to get it to these fan favorite events. Dana Carter decided he wasn’t going to wait for a last chance he was going to get it done the old-fashioned way, winning the last feature race of the season, creating no pressure for himself. After their extended feature event Carter did just that beating out your 2024 Track Champion Aren Keene for the win. Keene was able to hold on for second the last time he will be called a bridesmaid in 2024 with Tyler Fellows joining the pair in victory lane in third. Alexander Fitzgerald and Mike McClay completed the top five.
Kevin LaForest wins another battle in the Woodsville Power Equipment Ridge Runners the best way possible. He had not a care in the world regarding the points battle as he had sewed that up two weeks ago and was able to simply race to have fun. And with no pressure what better way to end the season than with a win, his sixth of the season and the 2024 Championship Title his second in his career at the Ridge. Zach Audet finished in second with Tim Davis taking the final victory lane spot third. Tayler Sayers and Stan Otterman rounded out the top five.
The Joe Mama’s Sporting Goods 4’6 Cylinder Enduro series got an extra twenty-five laps to get it done and at the end of it all only two cars were on the lead lap. Tiellar Mitchell is your winner with Hunter Garduno in second place. The third-place finisher at the checkers would end up failing the post-race inspection moving Mike McClay up to the final victory lane spot. Tim Colby and Lucas Balch completed the top five.
