Bear Ridge Speedway to host two DIRTcar Sportsman East Series events in 2022
For Immediate Release BRS-020622-1
Bear Ridge Speedway “the fastest dirt track in Vermont” is once again proud to announce the return of the DIRTcar Sportsman VP Racing Fuels “East Region Series” to the Ridge in 2022. The event in 2021 was a huge success with the fans afforded a 4 wide parade lap a first ever for the DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds at the Ridge. Because of the huge success and with eight of the top 15 in the overall points standing at the end of the series coming from the Ridge, the Ridge is proud to announce that they will be hosting a second event for the series in 2022.
The first event which is race two of the series will be on May 14th. Promoters C.V. “Butch” and April May are very excited to be able to be a part of this series and honored to be afforded two dates for our drivers and fans. The second date the series will invade the Ridge will be on Saturday September 10th the fifth event of the series. The six-race series will kick off at Plattsburgh on April 30th and will also have two events at Glen Ridge and one at Albany Saratoga. With the hosting of now two events and knowing that several of the Ridge drivers will be strong contenders for the overall championship of this series, these are must see events. There is also a rumor that a multi track champion of the Ridge is expected to come out of retirement to join this six-race series. Be sure to check the web site and our face book page for more information about this series.
The Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds put on a great show weekly at the Ridge and being able to host a series event at the hidden ¼ mile clay oval gem in the hills of Vermont is truly an honor. Several of the legends of the Ridge will be competing in the series, making the trek to New York for the other four events. Will Jason Gray be able to advance his overall points standings in 2022 or will one of the other regulars such as Todd Buckwold or Robert Tucker be able to beat him out for the highest finishing position. Don’t rule out Matt Lashua, James Fadden or Jeremy Huntoon from the equation either. Or who knows a rumor on the street has it that a past legend from the Ridge may come out of retirement to run the series, we know that family and fans can’t wait to see that happen, and be sure, he will come out with guns waving looking for bear. Who is this mystery legend? More hints will be forthcoming!
Everyone is anxious to see the 2022 season, the Ridge’s 55th consecutive to kick into gear on May 7th, you will be able to hear April May and Butch as they join Stephen John once again for all the highlights of Bear Ridge Speedway from the week before and what is coming up every Friday morning from 6:45 to 7:00 on WYKR.
