For Immediate Release BRS-051422-1
Week two of the 55th year of consecutive racing at Bear Ridge Speedway sponsored by Forward’s Garage & Forwards Plumbing LLCs succumbs to Mother Nature, leaving a packed pit of competitors and loyal fans disappointed, despite the efforts of Promoter C.V. “Butch” Elms to make every effort, as is our way, to get the show in.
The DIRTcar Sportsman East Series event was set to provide the fans with a whale of a show as twenty-eight cars were on hand to make the event. A hand full of outsiders showed up to test their skills at the Ridge making Dean Reynolds DIRTcar Northeast Director very pleased. Plans are being worked on for a makeup date, and once one is obtained we will announce it. All cars in the pits, over a hundred and thirty across the divisions, were able to hit the track for warmups, as well as the timed hot laps for the Sportsman before the “chance of thunderstorms” hit the track. Nonstop hard rain for over ninety minutes would finally force Elms to concede to Mother Nature and pull the plug.
With the night recorded as a complete rain out, we will be honoring those in attendance who return this Saturday May 21st with their tickets from May 14th. Remember you must have your front gate grandstand ticket or pit wrist band to be able to be honored the rain check.
Saturday May 21st sponsored by Ron’s Fix it Shop will feature a full card for the 99Rock weekly racing series which includes the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes, USAC DMA Midgets, R& L: Auto Towing & Recovery Late Models, LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks, and the Peanuts Auto LLC Ridge Runners.
Our first of the season nonprofit benefit night has been rescheduled to June 11th for the VT Food Bank in order to afford our fans the best opportunity support this benefit to help those who need it.
