BRADFORD, VT – The “Blue” Moon left it’s mark tonight. After loosing the power for over two hours racing action would resume offering plenty of excitement for the fans that stuck it out in the dark until the lights came back on. The car show winners were announced from the opening car show adding to the program for the Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply sponsored night.
Twenty one seems to the be the magical number for Adam Pierson, E Corinth VT in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds as once again he came from that position, and methodically worked his way to the front of the pack taking the lead away from Gary Siemons on lap eighteen. Kevin Chaffee Bradford VT picked up his tail on the way by and would unfortunately again have to settle for the brides maid finish for the night. Siemons would get mixed up in an altercation and have to restart from the back. He was able to work his way back to 11th by the end of the event. Jordan Fornwalt was able to jump on the train and make his way to third. Rounding out the top five were Robert Tucker and Allan Hammond.
At the time of this press Arnie Stygles is in the hospital after a health incident on the track. The Management and staff of Bear Ridge are all extending their thoughts and prayers to Arnie and his family.
The Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes got to run two features making up their event from Alarmco Inc night which was rained stopped at lap seven. Bringing the field to the first green on lap eight was Earl “Squarrel” Maxham. Maxham was quickly overcome by Jason Horniac who took the point for the next thirteen laps. By then Tim Hodge had worked his way into the mix and the two of them would battle it out for the next several laps. Hodge would go on and win the event with Horniac falling back to third as Thomas Placey got by him to take the second place spot. Melvin Pierson and Jason Colbeth completed the top five.
The Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes were the first and final event of the night. The Dad’s4 By Tool and Supply event came to the green being led by last year’s champ Bob Shepard. Shepard is still struggling to get some kinks worked out, and would find himself in an altercation early having to restart from the back of the pack. On lap seven Jason Colbeth having worked his way from eleventh on the starting grid took the lead from Horniack. Colbeth had no trouble holding onto the lead grabbing the win. Michael Danforth made his way thru the field to take the second place spot with Horniak holding on for third. Rookie Chris LaForest had his best finish taking forth with Tim Hodge climbing up to fifth.
The Laquerre Sports USAC DMA Midgets were the first on grid. Alex Rose and Jeff Horn brought the field to the green for their 20 lap event. Lap one took two attempts and when the racing finally got under way the shuffled field had Dean Christianson from the Ray Miller stable in the lead. Christensen would succumb to the Manafort Stable as Josh Sunn took over the lead on lap six and hold on for his second win of the year. Adam Pierson Sunn’s team mate came home in second with Christianson holding on for third. Adam Whitney and Jeff Champagne completed the top five. Adam Pierson grabbed the first Elliott Beverage Dash win over Ray Miller and Josh Sunn.
Tim Martin got to the point in one lap in the Mike Rivers Automotive Limited Late Models and never looked back as he grabbed the win. Last week’s feature winner TJ Morse came home in second and Rooked Don Reynolds made it to the final victory lane spot claiming third. JP Vallencourt and Wayland Childs finished out the top five.
Mike Ryan was finally able to overcome the monkey on his back to get the win in the Weglarz Property Service Four Cylinder Feature. Last week’s feature winner came up from fourteenth to come home second with Jim Durkee taking third. Jesse Durkee and Charlie Lakin completed the top five.
