For Immediate Release BRS-090515-1
BRADFORD, VT – Valley Floors night offered plenty of racing excitement for the fans and was capped with a 75 lap Enduro. Over thirty cars took to the track at the end of the night with competitors ranging in ages from fifteen to seventy three. Ryan Christian claimed the checkers with Tim Chase in second and Michael Labounty in third. Frank Putney and Chad Martin completed the top five.
Local boy Richie Simmons started the season on a high grabbing the first win of the season and then struggled a bit until this week. Starting from mid pack Simmons worked his way to the front and on lap nine took the lead away from Thomas Kimball. Simmons would be uncontested for most of the race until Kevin Chaffee having advance twelve spots set his sights on Simmons. Luckily for Simmons laps would run out before Chaffee could make his move with the two crossing the line in that order. Michael Dunn with his second best finish of the season came home in third. DJ Robinson and Josh Currier completed the top five.
There was more than enough action in the DIRTcar Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes as five different drivers would hold the point before the final grabbed the lead away from Brian Chaffee mid-way thru the race and take command going on to win his second feature of the season. Matt Ellsworth started from seventh and worked his way to the point in fine fashion. Thomas Placey tried to take the spot but was unable to make it work having to settle for the runner up position. Jason Horniak after a week off grabbed the third place spot. Points leader Bob Shepard advanced the most positions of the race coming home in fourth strengthening his points lead with Brain Chaffee completing the top five.
In the USAC DMA Midgets it is pretty much a done deal for the Manafort Stable claiming the points championship as Adam Pierson took the lead away from Mike Chaffee on lap seventeen and drove on to claim his seventh win of the season. Chaffee suffered mechanical problems and would end up finish last when the checkers waved. Joining Pierson in victory lane was his team mate Josh Sunn and Miller stable driver Dean Christensen. Kevin Chaffee and Adam Whitney rounded out the top five. The USAC DMA Midgets will be back in action on the nineteen with back to back appearances at the Ridge for the final two races of the season.
Matt Lashua was able to take advantage of his point starting position to grab his second win of the season in the Crazy Ed’s Limited Late Models. Points leader James Fadden joined him in victory lane with Tim Martin. Ryan Ovitt and Travis Smith completed the top five.
Justin Severance widened his points lead over veteran Mike Ryan with his second win of the season having advanced from the back of the pack to claim the lead at half way and move on for the win. Jesse Durkee grabbed second with Mike Ryan coming home in third. Sean Perron and Charlie Lakin finished the top five.
